Mary de sales
Marie Teresa Chappuis was born on June 16, 1793.
Though she was of poor health, she entered the Visitation community of Fribourg and professed her vows in 1816 as Sister Mary Francis de Sales.
Mother Mary de Sales Chappuis died on October 7, 1875, in the Visitation Monastery at Troyes.
We celebrate her contribution to the Church on October 12th, Oblate Founders Day. -

John Bosco was born on August 16, 1815.
All the while John Bosco sought to fill the hearts of the young with the experience of God’s love. The lives of the young that he touched like Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello and Saint Domenic Savio show that his spiritual methods worked
John Bosco was canonized on April 1, 1934. -

Father Brisson
Louis Brisson was born June 23, 1817.
He was ordained a diocesan priest on December 19, 1840.
On August 27, 1876, the new order was established. Father Brisson and five other priests professed vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience as the first Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales.
Father Brisson died February 2, 1908, with Mother Aviat and many Oblates at his side.

Born May 9, 1837
Shortly thereafter Father Bosco had a dream that the Blessed Virgin Mary told him that girls needed the same help as guys. Maria was the answer
She was beatified on November 20, 1938 and canonized on June 24, 1951. Her incorrupt body is venerated in the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians, in Turin, Italy.

St Dominic
Dominic Savio was born on April 2, 1842
Like all true Salesians, young Dominic developed a keen awareness of the presence of God no matter where he was or what he was doing. Savio kept running conversations with Jesus, Mary, or his guardian angel.
During Dominic’s first months at the oratory Pope Pius IX declared the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception on December 8th that year.
Saint Dominic Savio was canonized in 1954. His feast day is March 9th. -

St Leonie Aviat
Leonie was born September 16, 1844, in Sezanne, France.
On October 11, 1871, she professed first vows in the new congregation she co-founded with Father Brisson called the Oblate Sisters of Saint Francis de Sales.
She died on January 10, 1914, six years after the death of Father Brisson.
She was canonized in 2001 -

7 visitation sisters
The following seven sisters were martyred during the Spanish Civil War in 1936, all of them belonging to the Visitation Monastary in Madrid, Spain.
It was early 1936 when the religious persecution in the Spanish Civil War was becoming more frequent.
Their shared feast day is November 18th.
