Saint Teresa of Avila was born on march 28th in the year 1515.
She was born in Avila which is now known as Spain.She was the thrid child of 10 in a well mannered and respectable family. -

When teresa was 2 years of age Luther started the Reformation of the Protestant church. Even with all the chaos Teresa found a way to keep inner peace -

Land Of The Moors
At the age of 5 Teresa encouraged her older brother to run away with her to the :Land Of Moors" in order to show their faith toward God and be Beheaded.
On their way there she encountered one of her uncles who had stopped her in her tracks and returned her and her brother back home.
After this encounter she began to think she was a sinner in the eyes of God -

Marriage or The Church?
After a few years of being in the convent Teresa started to think about her furture and contemplate between the married life and Religious life.
Her prayers were soon answered as her mind was opened up and she was convinced to live the religious life.
One of the main factors was her overthinking of marriage and took her mothers marriage as an example and noticed how much it ruined her life.

Her Motheres Death.
Saint Teresa's mother deceased when she was 14 years old, leaving behing 10 children.
After Teresa's mother passed away she began to look towards Mary Mother of God as her "Spiritual mother" -

Carmelite Convent
Against her will Theresa's father sent her to the Carmelite Convtent at the age of 16 due to her behaviour.
She was hesitant at first and unwilling to go but she soon feel in love with the church starting to findher faith.

During Teresa's travel around Spain she had book to assist her in her speritual health. -

Graduation of Carmelite Order
After many years of offering up her life to God she graduated and officially became a Carmelite nun. -

Teresa refused to kneel to the queen as she thought and believed that she sould only knel before God. -

Confrontation with a Preist
At the age of around 41 Teresa was confronted by a preist. He attempted to make her closer to her religion but Teresa found it difficult to live a life of prayer. She started to pray to god more and more so and felt that God would do such acts as take her soul and talk to it. -

Counselling
In around the year 1567 she started to provide conseling and enlightenment to those in need of help. She practiced and preached that God was the right way and that if you have faith in God you will always come out a winner. -

Granted Permission
In the year 1568 Teresa was granted permision to establish wo homes for those who wish to take upon themself reforms.
Over all she opened up around 17 of these homes.
People wanted to start legal acts against her for trying to live a life of prayer and convincing others that prayer was the way to go.
The Emporor/ruler of the time was getting complains by many people that disagreed with her teachings -

Interior Castle
Receiving visions from God was her inspiration to write up a book She called it " Interior Castle".
It was a Religious book to help people become closer to God. -

Her greatest work!
Looked upon as Teresa's most amazing peice of work was her book that dispatch the many stages of her understanding of Spiritual development. The main point of writing this was to encourage people to live a life of full prayer and hoped that this book would help them on their spiritual journey.
It was known as "Castillo Interior" -
The passing away of Teresa Of Avila
Teresa begun to suffer from an illness many years before she died and it started to take over her life. She kept praying even during her times of suffering and knew that God had a plan for her. The illness finally took over and she passes away on the 5th of October 1582
Her final words before her passing were:
"My Lord, it is time to move on. Well then, may your will be done. O my Lord and my Spouse, the hour that I have longed for has come. It is time to meet one another." -
Exhumations
She has been exhumed several times since her death and has been announced incorruptable.

The Cannonization
Teresa of Avila was canonized in the year 1662 by Pope Gregory XV.
She Became a patron saint of people who suffered from severe headaches.
She was officially known as Saint Teresa Of Avila from that day forth, leaving behind her a stronger foundation of the Catholic Church.
