The death of Saint Teresa of Avila
Teresa passed away when she was 67 years of age. She dedicated her life to the church. She was a Spanish mystic, a Roman Catholic saint, also a Carmelite Nun. Teresa died because of the sickness she had suffered. -
When was she canonized?
Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada was cononized 40 years after her death by Pope Gregory XV. Also in the year 1970 she was named Doctor of the Church by Pope Paul VI. These achievements in her life made her what she is today. A saint of our church.
