The Revolution of 1905
The rise of 2 seperate groups, the Bolsheviks who represented the majority and the Mensheviks who represented the minority. The revolution included things such as "Bloody Sunday" where 130 people were killed and hundreds wounded. -
October Manifesto
The Tsar created a new manifesto which stated that some civil liberites should be created along with the creation of the Duma -
Russia 1914
More strikes took place than in 1905, the Tsar was failing at ruling his country -
The First Revolution (But not really, it's actually the 2nd)
Caused by sktrikes and lack of food. Petrograd workers and women marched out, all 200,000 of them to attempt to overthrow the Tsar -
Moscow fell and Tsar Abdicated
After the fall of Moscow and the Tsar abdicating, the Soviet and Duma came together to create a Provisional Government. -
Provisional Government Formed
The Provisional Government was formed by the Soviet and the Duma combining their power together. -
Lenin Returns to Russia
Lenin is smuggled back into Russia by the Germans. -
April Thesis was created
Stated that: There must be immeadiate Peace
Seizure of all gentry land
All power to the Soviets
Seizure of all factories -
Kornilov Affair
A loose alliance was to be formed between 2 groups; the Socialists led by Alexander Kerensky and the Constitutional Democrats led by General Kornilov.
A problem in the petrograd occured and both were sent to fix it, but Kornilov had his own agenda. Kerensky appealed to the people who turned down Kornnilov, thus creating less support for the army. -
The Bolshevik Revolution
This revolution was actually planned because I guess they learned from their mistakes. The Bolsheviks now have control of the Petrograd and then Moscow. Later in the month on the 23rd, Lenin, Trotsky and the Soviets the Bolsheviks arrested the Provisional Government -
The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
Lenin signed an agreement with Germany offering open peace and neogtiations, this later screwed everyone over. YOU HAD ONE JOB LENIN -
The Civil War
This was the battle between the Reds (Bolsheviks) vs. Whites (Everyone else). Here is the problem with the Whites, they didn't have one view or goal they all focussed on. This was basically the group of ADHD because they had so many different opinions and views that their attack was less the significant. Finally Russia had an intervention for it's revolution problems with 14 different countries, they were all trying to help Russia's problem. The outcome was a new communist regime. -
War Communism
A new economic and political policy, this greatly benefitted the Reds, constantly supplying them with food and weapons. -

New Economic Policy
War Commuinism was hindering the Russian economy so Lenin decided to launch a new policy called "The New Economic Policy" (Real creative Lenin). This stated:
Private trade was allowed
Peasents could sell surplus
Workers in small factories we allowed to buy ownership of their company but only as a co-operative with the government. -
Treaty of Rapallo
A treaty between Germany and Russia which renounced all land and financial debt after World War 1. -

The First Five Year Plan
Stalin imposed new plans to attempt to restore Russia. By instating his first five year plan which included, Command Economy which is basically any distribution of goods was to be all in one central location. Then Collectivization began, this forced land owners (farmers mainly) to give up their land and give it all to the government. Stalin then suggested the industrial part of Russia needed serious improvement, and so they began to make weapons, enough to defend themselves. -
Kellogg-Briand Pact
An agreement between certain states not to use war as a resolution to problems. AKA no hitting each other because nice people don't do that. -
Second Five Year Plan
The Second Five Year Plan, was supposed to be the new and improved plan, this time, surely to work. This plan included the purges which ultimately killed many. -
Nazi-Soviet Pact
This pact was an agreement of non-belligerence by either party including Germany and Soviet Union, towards the other, and a commitment that neither party would ally with or aid an enemy of the other party.
