Russia and Japan go to war over who gets control of Korea and Manchuria. Russia will eventually lose this war. This helped start the Russian revolution. -

In 1906 Russia writes the Fundamental Laws of the Russian Empire Constitution. This constitution took away power from the Czar and created a parliament. -
The Battle of Tannenberg
On this day Russia Fought Germany. This battle happened in the first month of WWI. This battle caused Russia's army to almost be Decimated. -
The Russian Revolution
At this time Russia had been taken over and changed to a Socialist country. This Revolution had started in Petrograd by armed Socialists and soldiers. -
The Communist Revolution
Lenin Decides to make Russia Communist while also making himself a ruler and a leader to them. He also used the slogan "Bread, Peace, and Land" to help pull the favor of the people to him. -
The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
On March 3, 1918, Russia signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk to end their participation in WWI. this treaty had them give up land such as the Baltic states over to other countries. -
The Treaty of Riga
this treaty was signed between Russia and Poland. This Treaty promised Poland 30 million rubles of gold and give them back Polish artwork. They were also to respect each other's country. -
Kronstadt rebellion
At this time the Bolsheviks had much power and the people revolted. Many soldiers, sailors, and civilians rebelled. The rebellion started in Kronstadt and the Bolsheviks had to loosen their hold of power to please the people. -
Treaty on the Creation of the USSR
created the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, also known as the Soviet Union.
