Reign of Czar Alexander III(1881-1894)
Czar Alexander's reign was happening in Russia. He had three goals for his people which were autocracy, orthodoxy, and national homogenity.

Reign of Czar Nicholas II(1894-1917)
Czar Nicholas was forced to abdicate his Russian throne. His poor grasp of Bloody Sunday and Russia in WWI caused him to abdicate and to get exacuted
S- he was the last czar of Russia under the Romanov rule -
Russo-Japanese War(1904-1905)
a war between the Russian empire and the Japanese empire over imperial goals in Korea and Manchuria,became constitutional monarchy
S- was the first war in the modern era and it caused Czar Nicholas to lose his naval army -
Establishment of the Duma(1905)
-established by Czar Nicholas II, promised that it would be a representative assembly
S- result of the Russo Japanese war and Bloody Sunday, done to improve Czar's reputation -
Bloody Sunday(1905)
incident where British soldiers shot 28 unarmed people during a protest against internment
S- allowed protestors to become even more angry, they wanted a peaceful march, led the workers to hate the gov't and czar more -

Russia joins WWI to help Serbia out, when they join germany also joins, Russia wasn't industrialized causing them to lose to Germany and allies and drop out early

Czar abdicates his Russian throne causing the provisional gov't to establish

revolution where the communists, led by Lenin, wanted to overthrow czar

a problem that the Red army solved by successfully protected the Bolsheviks against the non communists, the White Army

self governing republics discourage nationalism, the communist party holds all the power, isn't true communism, will last until 1991

Stalin's Rise to Power(1922-1927)
stalin manipulates his way to power despite Lenin's concerns, in full control over communist party and he has Trotsky exiled
S- becomes dictator of the Soviet Union -
Death of Lenin(1924)
Trotsky, Red Army commander, killed him. Joseph Stalin took his place
S- set up a competition over replacing him. -
Leon Trotsky Exiled(1929)
Stalin has him exiled and later kills him
S- Trotsky helped start the revolution which had him exiled and later assassinated
