President Viktor Yanukovych's government announced they would be abandoning an agreement which would strengthen ties with the European Union. -
Protests Become Violent
The protestors saw no willingness on Yanukovych's side and stopped believing there could be a successful negotiation. -
Putin's Treaty
In order for Crimea to 'legally' or 'official' join Russia, aside from a vote, there would have to be a treaty for Crimea to sign. After voting and deciding whether or not they would join Russia they would sign a treaty making if 'official'. -
Voting Results
Crimea voted whether or not they would join Russia. Of course, we all knew how it was going to go. The voting committee stated that 97% of the people voted to join Russia. Which of course would be diputed. -
Ukraine's Boarder
There are now conerns that Russia will attempt to 'take' more of Ukraine or even move up towards Estonia.
