    Begins Broadcasting Knicks Games
    At age 11 Russell already had a love for sports broadcasting. That love grew tenfold once Russell was presented with an IPod, and a microphone, for his 11th birthday. Soon after Russell brought his microphone with him to Madison Square Garden, where he broadcasted a full game of play by play into his microphone. He picked a great game, as the Knicks won on a last second buzzer beater. His love for play by play was born that day.
  • Begins Broadcasting Little League Games

    Begins Broadcasting Little League Games
    As Russell's love for play by play continued he began to take his microphone to the local Little League fields, where he became the official play by play voice of South Orange Maplewood Little League. He would broadcast the games onto his IPod, where they would then be shared by parents and players alike. His younger brother Chandler grew adept at giving postgame interviews, as Russell broadcasted most of his games and put them up on the internet.

    Russell wrote, produced and starred in a 30 minute sports show on SomaTV, the local access channel for Maplewood, NJ. His show featured plenty of hard hitting analysis, and lots of great guests, including MSG Network Knicks sideline reporter Tina Cervasio, who is pictured above.

    Link To ShowSimon wrote, produced and starred in a seven minute segment that aired every Sunday night on "From the Stands," the weekly sports talk show on WSOU 89.5 FM, the college radio station for Seton Hall University. The station is the number one college station in the New York area and has won awards from Rolling Stone, Playboy and other publications. While at the station Russell interviewed New York Jets D Lineman Mike Devito, and worked his way up to being a full time host.

    Russell is accepted to USC into the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. This acceptance allows Russell to grow through opportunities in both New York and Los Angeles.
  • Begins Covering The Clippers As A Beat Reporter

    Begins Covering The Clippers As A Beat Reporter
    As a writer for Galen Central in Los Angeles, Russell begins covering the Los Angeles Clippers. He is credentialed for games and begins work as a working journalist in the NBA. From the stands of Madison Square Garden to the locker rooms at Staples Center, Russell is well on his way to living his dream.
