    Stealing on the Steamship
    Since Rosie is so poor, they only food she can afford is some that she steals from the chef's kitchen on the ship. Although the food isn't very high quality or isn't freshly grown like the crops from her farm, Rosie doesn't get caught in the act. So she is grateful. Throughout the trip she doesn't starve because of this.

    After wandering around New York for a month looking for food or shelter, Rosie is confused by the streets and chaos of New York, she grows desperate enough to trust a man named Andrew O'Donnell to take her to an inn. Instead he steals her trunk of clothes she brought! So after wandering she finds a inn and earns a job washing dishes at a restuarant.

    Framed for Fraud
    After months of saving up in New York, Rosie is framed for crime. A woman she isn't fond of was determined to get her kicked out of the inn, so she frames her for stealing her prized necklace. After being interrogated by the police, she is kicked out of the inn and loses her job. Rosie has no other choice but to move west.

    Using the money she found, Rosie gets a train ticket moving into Northern Virginia. WHile hiking through the forest looking for clothes or shelter, Rosie's sees something she cannot believe. An stray arabian horse munching on apples growing in the back of the woods. She manages to tame the horse using apples she pickes off the tree. This horse provides a faster and cheaper way to move west.

    Misleading the Native Americans
    For a month, Rosie has slowly rode her way to Oklahoma, a land where she dreams for land. Up on the hill of a large orchard, she stumbles upon a small Indian reserve nestled into the foot hills of the Ozark Mountains. But the Native Americans mistook Rosie for an enemy and shot at her and her horse! Rosie's horse twists it's ankle running along the hills. The bad luck seems to continue as Rosie cares for his injury and continues her search westward.

    Rosie arrives in Idaho after a grueling trip with an injured horse to care for. There she finds a group of friendly Native Americas. She manages to convey her trip to them using writing and hand gestures, and they apologize deeply for their people's behavior. in return for her loss, she is rewarded with thirty acres of land, a plow, and some seeds to get started. Rosie's dream has been accomplished.
