Rosalind takes perfect photo of the B form of DNA, which she named Photo 51. The B form of DNA is the wet form of DNA; Rosalind put aside and started to find the A form, the dry form. -

Wilkens shows Watson Franklin's photo, Photo 51, with out her permission. He also showed Watson all of her reasearch and findings. Watson, Wilkins, and Crick get all of her credit. -

Tobacco Mossaic Virus (TMV)
Franklin takes amazing xray of TMV. The virus has a shape of a lumpy cylinder which has identical protein subunits coiled in a the shape of a helix. The center is hollow. The genetic material in the RNA winds around like a snake among the protein subunits.
Franklin visits the USA for the first time. -
Ovarian Cancer
Franklin experiences horrible pains in her abdomen. She goes to see a doctor in London who sends her immediately to a surgeon. They discover that she has two large tumors in her ovaries. One tumor is the size of a tennis ball and the other much larger and cancerous. She has them removed. -
Cancer Returns
Franklin's pains return. She is diagnosed with advanced cancer. She begins chemotherapy and continues to work half day at the lab. Franklin begins to work on the polio virus which she believes has great similarities to the yellow turnip mossaic virus. She's right. -
Rosalind Franklin Dies
Rosalind dies of cancer and sadly a few years after she dies Watson, Crick, and Wilkins won the Noble Peace Prize for all of her hard work, giving her no credit. "Scientist:her work on viruses was of lasting benefit to mankind."
