When Rosa was 2 she worked hard in the fields picking out cotton.At that time Rosa's grandparents had been slaves.They taught her that all people should be treated equally.

Rosa was a good student but she could only go to schools for black students.When she was eleven she moved to Montgomery Alabama and started to go to school there.

Civil Rights Activities

Rosa Parks belonged to the National Association for the advancement In 1943 of colored people (NAACP).This group wanted equal rights for African Americans.Until she retired in 1956.
