They defeated the Greeks in Southern Italy. Then they created an alliance. Also Romans had citizenship and other allies had to give up soldiers. Also they Worshiped everyone's gods. They were divided into the Patricians who were wealthy land owners and higher class but lower in number and held office and the Plebeians who were mid and lower class that owned small land and could vote but not hold office. Plebeians used Succesio and won equality. The community became more like a democracy. -

Spartacus along with thousands of other slaves teamed up with Gladiators to get freedom. They started fighting Roman soldiers and were defeating them. Spartacus was successful in almost all of his battles until he tried trusting pirates who later Crassus met with the pirates is a theory. Later Spartacus and his men were stranded on the southern Italy peninsula. Crassus then built a wall and their army got weaker than Crassus sent his army to destroy them all. Julius was supposed to give up but refused to than later defeated Pompey. Julius was ruled a dictator and was supposed to give up his power but didn't. Later Brutus killed to do the city a favor. -

Octavian took over power and he had the West while Antony had the east. Antony teamed up with Cleopatrick the fifth. Octavian and Antony later fought at the actium. Antony gets destroyed flees to Egypt with Cleopatrick both of them commit suicide. Octavian is later named Augustus. He gave the power back to the senate. He had 28 legions consisting of 5,000 Roman citizens each. He had around 9,000 guards by his side. Extended the Emperor until they lost to the Germans. -

It became very Greek like and they made everything big and out of concrete. Virgil was the most famous person. Horace wrote many satires which were making fun of society or politics. Livy wrote the early life of Rome.
The house hold was father lead. The father made all the decisions for the family and they kept slaves. Families often had Greek tutors to teach their children. Also boys changed into men when they turned 16 and had different togas. Average age was 14 to get married. -

JUDISM and the rise of Christanity
Judea embraced the old lands from Judah. The Sadducee's were the priest of Rome who liked cooperation. Zealots wanted to overthrow Rome. Jesus preached about Judea and Galilee. He also thought the prophecy of salvation. PONTIUS PILATE crucified Jesus and than Jesus became the Messiah. Paul and Peter were two people who preached about Jesus and Christianity. Paul sent the message if you accepted Jesus as the savior you could release your sins. Nero was cruel and often fed his enemies to dogs. -

After many civil wars the government took over "servan". Many invasions occurred. Germanic tribes moved into Balkans, Gaul, and Spain. Then Rome's economy and military fell because of a plague. They then hired Germans to fight for them. Christianity became the new religion. Diocletian split the empire into 2 and had four rules. They then have a stagnate population and have no way of paying for taxes. Both rulers created the ways of inflation. Both issues the men to continue with their jobs. -

Still divided as Rome is in the West and Constaninople in the East.
They brought in Germanic tribes such as the Huns, Visigoths, and the Vandals. The Vandals crossed the Danube and sacked Rome in 410. Vandals also sacked Rome in 455. Romulus Augustulus was removed by Germanic tribes. The plague destroyed Rome decimating the population.
