Roblox 2003-2004
Roblox was created by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in 2003 under the name GoBlocks. This name was the alpha name of Roblox and was later changed when the closed access beta version called Dynablocks.beta was launched in 2004. an acronym of the words "Robot" and "Blocks" in English.
Dynablocks later became known as Roblox. -
Roblox 2005-2007
in 2005 and with that name the website for the platform was officially launched in September 2006.
Shortly after, in March 2007, Roblox began to comply with the COPPA law, adding secure chat and several limitations on communication for those under 13 years of age13 and in August they would add the 'Builders Club' (BC) membership, although later it would be replaced by 'Premium'. -
Roblox 2011-2012
A few years later, in December 2011, the first Hack Week was held, an event that brought together game developers to work on innovative ideas to include in the platform. On April 1, 2012, the platform was massively hacked and was subsequently left without service for several hours and later in December of that year an iOS version of the platform would be launched. -
Roblox 2013-2014
The following year, in October 2013, the Developer Exchange program (hereinafter DevEx) would come to light, which would allow developers to exchange the Robux obtained from their games in exchange for dollars. Subsequently, on July 15 of the following year, a version of the platform for Android was launched and in 2016 a version for Xbox One with an initial selection of only 15 games, which had to go through an approval process subject to the standards of the Entertainment Software Rating Board
