French And Indian War
The French and British fought for land control and trade routes in North America. The French had most the natives on their side. in the end the British won. This caused the french to give up most their land. Impacts were that Britain blamed the colonist for the war, made them repay war debt, and the Proclamation line stating the all colonist could not travel west. -
The Proclamation line
King George created the Proclamation line. This line stated that colonist could not travel westward nor could they not live in the Ohio River Valley. The line was a natural barrier known as the Appalachian Mountains. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp act was made to help pay the war debt. it added an increased tax on all printed goods. it was a direct tax and this outraged the colonist. Printed goods included newspapers and books and since this was the only source of entertainemt in the time period in angered the colonists. -
Townshend Act
The British repeal Stamp and replace with Townshend act. This act added a tax on glass, pain tea and others.The exception was money financed troops. Still unacceptable. -
Boston Massacre
Small protest against British troops. Random shot fired and 5 people were. Written as a massacre to increase support toward the colonists, In reality only 5 deaths and no British killed. -
Tea Act/ Boston Tea Party
The British decide to put a tax on tea. A popular drink due to the fact the colonist still love the drink and are English. So the colonist responded by going into the Boston harbor and dumping $1 million dollars of tea in to the harbor. -
Lexington and Concord
British having rough time and Boston militia forming all over Mass. The King reacts quickly and hurries to sieze ammo and the leaders. Plan fails due to poor planning by British. They lose at Lexington and Concord forces driven out. The plan to find leaders and ammo discovered, Noting ends up being found.
