Magna Carta
is a charter of rights agreed to by King John of England. It is an important symbol of liberty today. The first amendament relates to the magna carta because it explains how everyone needs there rights and liberties. -
Mayflower Compact
The Mayflower Compact was a set of rules established by English settlers who were traveling. Pilgrims and early settlers were traveling to the New World. The amendment that the Mayflower compact is apart is the first amendment. -

its an act of the Parliament of England that imposed on basic civil rights for monarchy. It relates to the constitution through the first amendment because it gives the right to petition freedom and debate. -

It was a long, seven year war between Great Britain and France.It relates to the constitution because the war helped caused the amercan revolution and helped pay off debt. -
Albany Plan of Union
It was a plan that was created to make a more unified government for the 13th colonies Benjamin Franklin was the person that suggested this plan. This relates to the constitution because it gave power to tax and allows president-general to make treaties, as the president would do so under the constitution. -
Stamp Act
It was an act that was a direct tax on British colonies that made printed materials have to be produced in London. It relates to the constitution because it caused problems with the trading and it was the first direct law against colonists. -
Sugar Act
It was an act that the Parliament passed to reduce tax on molasses for the citizens. It relates to the constitution because it effected the flow trade and it raised problems with the consitutional rights. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were laws that were passed by the British parliament in 1774 to punish the massachusetts colonists for protesting in the Boston Tea Party. It relates to the consitution because it perserved the states' rights but maintains a unified federal government. -
First Continental Congress
It was a meeting of delegates from 12 or 13 Brittish colonies that later became the United States.It relates to the constitution because helped form the delegates of the united states to develop the constitution. -
Second Continental Congress
This was a meeting of 13 colonies in America which later united in the American Revolutionary War. It relates to the consititution because it helped cause the Revolutionary war by developing strategies and writing treaties. -
Declaration of Independence
Is a document that was formal and declared the nation's right to chose their own government. It relates to the constitution because the constitution set forth the ideas and principles and outlined how the government functioned. -
Articles of Confederation
The Articles of Conferation because it was first original consitution of the United Staes. It was used to establish of the an union government. It relates to the constitution because it caused the need for a stronger federal government which later led to the constitution convection. -
New Jersey Plan
The New Jersey Plan was an option on how the United States would be governed. The plan called for her state to have one vote in congress. It was introduced to William Paterson in 1786.It relates to the consitution because it helped the congress decide on using a one vote based on population. -
Shay's Rebellion
it was a series of attacks on courthouses and various other government owned properties.It relates to the consitution because it caused economic problems between farmers which led the writing of the consitution. -
Virginia Plan
It was a plan that was proposed by Virginia for a bicameralism government and was drafted by James Madison in 1787.It relates to the constitution because it caused each state to be determined by a representative, which was later included in the constitution. -
Three-fifths Compromise
It was a compromise that was reached through delegates of the state during the consititutional convention.
