The proclamation line forbid the settlers to settle west of the Appalachian mountains to let the natives have their own land. the settlers did not like that idea so they started a rebellion so they could have the land. -

the Townshend acts are a series of acts that started in 1767. The Townshend acts were named after Charles Townshend, the chancellor of Exchequer who proposed the program. -

the Boston massacre happened on march, 5, 1770. when the shooting stopped there were 5 colonist dead, 3 dead at the scene and the other 2 died later. -

The committees of correspondence were governments created by the patriot leaders to encourage the colonialist to rebel against the British army. The committees were created by Samuel Adams and the kept the colonist informed of the British anti-colonial actions. -

The tea act was an act of the parliament of Great Britain. The British placed tax on tea for the colonist. -
Boston tea party
The Boston tea party was a political protest by the sons of liberty. In this protest they dumped over $1,000,000 worth of British tea in today's money into the Boston harbor. -

The Intolerable acts were create to punish the colonist for the Boston tea party. -

The "shot heard around the world" was the very first shot of the revolutionary war. The "shot heard around the world" encouraged a movement towards democracy. -

Common sense was written by Thomas Paine to persuade the colonist to rebel against the British. He sold over 120,000 copies. -
Declaration of Independence
the Declaration of independence was written by Thomas Jefferson July,2, 1776. The date had to be changed because the people who had to sign it took two days to arrive and sign the Declaration of Independence.
