Road to Revolution

  • The French and Indian War

    It was a war between the French and Great Britain. It was known as the 7 year war. It happened because Britain wanted land and this ended to the American Revolution.
  • The Sugar Act

    No one could afford things with sugar so when the colonist got taxed for the sugar they couldn't pay it because it was not being sold.
  • Stamp Act of 1765

    The colonist receved stamps on forms of papers documents and playing cards they had these to represented a tax form.
  • Towns Act of 1765

    They increased the taxes for mass produced things like paper paint led and tea. Their was also a law that let the British go search the colonist houses.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Colonist started a riot and the a British officer called another officer and then the Colonist attacked them. The officers fired into the mob killing 3 people. Wounding 8 other people and 2 of those colonist died.
  • The Tea Act

    Their was tea sent to the colonist they thought that it would bring more taxes so they threw the tea into the ocean which led to the king to lose a lot of money.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The French didn't let the colonist across the Appalachian Mountains.
  • The tea party

    The Boston tea party was a protest against the British for taxing without representation.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    It was a law passed by the British Parliament to punish the Boston colony for the act of dumping the tea aka the Boston tea party
  • 1st Continental Congress
