The Sugar Act is also called the Plantation act or Revenue act. The act reduced the rate of tax from molasses to 6 pence to 3 pence per gallon. The British legislation aimed to end the smuggle trade in sugar and molasses. -

Townshend Acts of 1767 taxed goods imported to America. Though Americans saw this as an abuse of power. -

The Boston Massacre was a street brawl with patriots. British soldiers shot and killed many multiple people. -
Tea Act
Tea Act of 1773 granted a company the right to ship its tea straight to the colonies. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party of 1773. Colonist frustrated with taxation on tea dumped 342 chests of tea. -
Intolerable Acts
Intolerable Acts of 1774. The act was meant to punish the colonists for the Boston tea party. -
1st Continental Congress
The 1st Continental Congress of 1774. This was a compact among colonies to boycott British goods.
