Bacon's Rebellion
Cause: Governor Berkeley's refusal to retaliate for a series of Native American attacks on frontier settlements
Definition: It was an armed rebellion in 1676 by Virginia settlers led by Nathaniel Bacon against the rule of Governor William Berkeley.
Impact: This actually led to the growth of the slave trade, as they sought a more reliable, controllable, permanent labor source than indentured servants. -

Cause: They began pursuing different religions.
Definition: It was a revival that impacted the English colonists.

Cause: The colonists could not stand a chance against the British
Definition: The Albany Plan of Union was a plan to create a unified government for the Thirteen Colonies,

Cause: began due to a conflict between England and France over control of the Ohio River Valley.
Definition: In a battle between British and French forces near Quebec City in Canada, the British gained control of all of Canada.
Impact: Firstly, it meant a great expansion of British territorial claims in the New World. But the cost of the war had greatly enlarged Britain's debt. -
Proclamation Line of 1763
Cause: Ottawa Chief Pontiac led numerous attacks against British and colonial expansion and settlement and his violent aggression is one reason Britain issued the Proclamation of 1763
Definition: It was declared by the British crown at the end of the French and Indian War in North America, mainly intended to conciliate the Native Americans by checking the encroachment of settlers on their lands.
Impact: It prohibited American colonists from settling west of Appalachia. -
Pontiac's Rebellion
Cause: the French treated them with honor, hospitality, equality, and respect as opposed to the British who believed they were superior to the Indians
Definition: Pontiac's War was launched in 1763 by a loose confederation of American Indian tribes, who were dissatisfied with British Policies
Impact: It showed the ability of diverse tribes to come together and form an effective coalition to resist British forces. -
Boston Massacre
Cause: The British had instituted a number of new taxes on the American colonies including taxes on tea, glass, paper, paint, and lead.
Definition: The Boston Massacre was a street fight between a "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers.
Impact: It further incensed colonists already weary of British rule and unfair taxation and roused them to fight for independence -
Boston Tea Party
Cause: The American colonists believed Britain was unfairly taxing them to pay for expenses incurred during the French and Indian War.
Definition: Boston colonists, disguised as Indians, threw the contents of several hundred chests of tea into the harbor as a protest against British taxes on tea

Cause: The king was mad about the Boston Tea Party and wanted to punish the colonists.
Definition: It was comprised of delegates from the colonies, met in 1774 in reaction to the Coercive Acts
Impact: In response to Britain's taxes and treatment of the colonists, leaders of the colonies met to discuss what to do about Britain.
