End of the French and Indian War
A war is very exspensive. It was also heavaly money burdened in 1763 too. At the end of the French and Indian war on January 8th 1763, Britain had spent about $40 million in sending over soldiers, supplies, and weapons. In doing so they put themselves in major debt, and now they need major money. On the upside all the colonist start to unite, and settle in the Ohio River Valley, the area they took from the French. On the downside though they start fueding with the Native Americans... -

The Proclamation of 1763
Does a king have complete rule? Sort of. Does he abuse his power? Mabey. One thing is for sure though, King George the III was an ignorant man when it came to abuse of his power. After the end of the French and Indian War the King decided to make the Proclamation of 1763 on October 7th. This stated that no one shall go west of the Appalachian Mountains, but isn't this what they just fought for? Who cares what he said, we have a right! How can they enforce it! Let's go west! And west they did... -

The Sugar Act
The Sugar Act . Really just another horrible idea that put taxes on sugar, molasses, and other delicacies with sugar. This is wrong, this "Taxation Without Representation is Tyranny". This is the famous quote spoken by James Otis leading the colonist to do something about the taxing without their word. So the colonists then started to boycott British goods, but when caught smuggling harsh things happen to them. Then they sent a strongly worded petition to England, who never really wrote back... -
The Stamp Act
During the stamp act that was passed March 22nd the british made all the colonists buy a stamp for wills, contracts, newspapers, and playing cards. WHAT! The colonists then demanded that the tax on stamps got repealed because they had no input in what they happends. When the act was not getting repealed, and the colosist start getting red with anger, they started burning stamped paper, tar and feather british officals, and started the stamp act congress. Key word: anger... -

Quartering Act
Imagine a soldier, not our mordern american hero, but a colonial brithish redcoat you hated. Now put him in your house, feed him, give him your bed, treat him like a king. Why would you do that you think? Well in 1765 March 26th you were forced to all because of the quartering act set up by King George the III. This violates our rights! Get away you redcoat, you ain't comin' in. This just fules their anger... -

The Townshend Act
The Townshend act of June 29th 1767 put taxes on goods like lead, tea, and glass, and other nice items from across the sea. But colonist start to catch on to this "act" or really a tax. Their rights were still being VIOLATED! So they smuggled in lots of goods, and started to reduce their imports(Non-importation Agreement). Though this came at a price. British officials had the Writs of Assistance which gave them permission to search ships for no reason. If you were smuggling goods...Good Luck... -
The Boston Massacre
In the Boston Massacre there was a total of 5 deaths. Of these people were Crispus Attucks, who died instantly from being shot. Crispus Attucks was a former slave and dock worker. "The first to defy and the first to die". Some say Crispus knocked down a soldier, and started the "Bloody Massacre", as it was called by Paul Revere in his propaganda engraving. This engraving was false in many ways showing only one side of the story. Alas the 13 colonies saw it as it was and got ready to fight... -

The Tea Act
Two months and five days after the horrible Boston Massacre, a new delima comes into the picture. The Tea Act. When the British East India Company takes a monopoly on tea, and puts all other tea merchants out of bussiness. This means you can only get tea from Britian. So when the king puts a tax of three pence a pound for tea, wouldn't you get angry? Even though it's not that much money, it's the principle of the thing! Then a little idea came to their head... -

Boston Tea Party
The Tea Act...only three pence a pound. Is it enough to start a war? Yes. When the tea act came in effect after so many other taxes and acts it was enough. No one will give the tea back to England. Let's throw the tea in the harbor tonight. Spread the word! We'll disguise ourselvs as mohician indians, take the tea and throw all the tea in the harbor. "The Boston Harbor will be a Teapot". And they did it. 116 participate, and 5,000 watched. 45 tons and in todays money $1 million. Time to fight... -
The Intolerable/Coercive Acts
The Coercive Acts. More like the Intorable acts. The causes of the Intolerable were the british put tax on tea [3 pence a pound]. This then resulted in the boston tea party and then the british closed the boston port until thte tea was paid for. Soon trials were moved to England, trials were banned, and the quartering act was strengthend. Now let's do things our way... -

These people all decided to organize boycotts, train militias, plus gather amunition, and lastly demand a repeal of the Intolarable Acts. Let's meet agian in May of next year. But they would never be able to meet as one again...the war was starting... -

Paul Revere's Ride
The Regulars are coming. The Regulars are coming. Paul Revere road from Boston all the to Lexington and Concord. He started in Boston were he saw two lanterns lit. This meant that the British were coming over to arrest people for storing guns and ammunition. That is when Paul Revere made his ride through the night and alerted John Handcock and Sam Adams. -
