    The 13 Colonies
    The 13 Colonies was established by a group of British settlements along the Atlantic coast of North America. The importance of it is the diversity, the colonies laid some groundwork for the Unites States (ex: cultural, political), and the revolutionary thoughts. Some historical figures are George Washington,Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. How it contributed to the U.S. the constitution was established, as long as the Bill of Rights.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    The importance of the Mayflower Compact was mostly the social contract for its community and cooperation with the settlers. One historical figure is John Carver, he was the first ever governor of Plymouth Colony. Another historical figure is William Bradford who helped draft things for the Compact and the later document his writings. Lastly is the United States government system introduced America the priciple of religious freedom, and economic liberty.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was important for its direct protest against the Tea Act. That then allowed the British East India Company to practically sell tea at reduced prices. That led to a fight between the Britain and English colonies. Samuel Adams was a big historical influence this year because he supported the British taxation. The government was okay.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The importance of the Declaration of Independence was that it summarized colonists' motivations for seeking its Independence. John Hancook was a big feature of this because he was one of the first to sign it. This also shows how committed he was to earn independence/freedom for the United States from Great Britain. As far as government goes they were under the British Empire but after the DOI was signed it turned into democratic.
  • Articles of Confederation

    Articles of Confederation
    The Articles of Confederation was formed because the government was weak, because they had just fought against Britain who has a strong government. It was a unicameral legislature, there were no judicial or executive branches. The importance of it is that it established things for the national government of the United States after they declared Great Britain. Some historical figures were John Dickinson and Richard Henry Lee. For the government it created sovereignty.
