Religious Requirements for Voting in the 1600's
There were 2 requirements for voting:
- You had to be an adult white male ad own property.
- You had to be a member of the church. -

- They were somewhat tolerant, respected the Native Americans.

- Came for religious freedom, but banished anyone who didn't agree with their religious views.

Maryland - The Catholic Project
- Came in 1634
- Came Because They Were Being Persecuted Because of Their Religious Beliefs.
- Settled in Maryland
- EXTREMELY Tolerant

Dissent in Massachusetts Bay
- 1637
- If you didn’t believe what the Puritans said, they would banish you from Massachusetts.
- Anne Hutchinson Roger Williams were banished
- Anne was banned because she questioned church leaders.
