Hitler Appointed Chancellor
Ex-Chancellor Franz von Papen managed to convince Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as chancellor, with the promise they'd help restrain Hitler’s brutal tendencies. The second he came to power, he expanded police and gestapos, until there was nothing anyone could do to stop him.
