Germany, Italy, Japan, and the USSR all perceived they had been treated unfairly by the victors at the Treaty of Versailles. Italy and Japan had been on the Allies' side but did not receive all they were promised, while Germany was punished severely and the USSR was excluded completely. -

Tojo: Becomes Prime Minister
Tojo rises from being Minister of the Army to being Prime Minister. He replaced a more moderate minister. Although he is not technically the highest-ranking man in Japan (Japan still had a emperor), Tojo effectively controls the government from here. He led the Japanese into an aggressive stance against America and eventually led Japan into war with America.
