Saint Paul was an apostle who taught the gospel of Christ to the first-century world. He was well known, taking advantage of this to spread Christianity. He would write letters to those faithful to Christ, telling them to keep their faith strong. All though he was arrested for his faith, he continued to write his letters. -

The Great Fire of Rome
This was an urban fire that caused great devastation throughout the city of Rome. It lasted nearly six days. Emperor Nero has been blamed for starting the fire, as well as given credit for helping the people. -

Romans targeted Christian leaders, demolished buildings, and attempted to burn manuscripts. This was all to try to wipe out Christianity for good. With all of this public, the Christian faith began to grow, eventually turning the emperor himself Christian. -

Battle of Milvian Bridge
Took place between the Roman Emperors Constantine I and Maxentius. It takes place on the Milvian Bridge which is an important route over the Tiver river. Constantine won, ending the Tetrarchy and gaining sole rule of Rome. -

Edict of Milan
This was an agreement to allow Christians fairly with their beliefs and practices. In other words, it said that the Roman Empire would have religious tolerance. -

Emperor Theodosius
The last emperor to rule both the eastern and western halves of the empire. Theodosius also established Christianity as the state religion. Eventually he became Emperor of the East side of the Roman Empire
