Conference Of Algeciras
After the Moroccan crisis France and Germany enter in aconflict so they wanted to established a protectorate in Morocco.So on 1906 was celbrated the conference of Algeciras in which it was given the permission to France and Spain to established a protectorate in Morocco , while Germany recieved another territories. -
Beggining of The conflicts
Before the north of Morocco was given to Spain as a protectorate , some Spanish workers where constructing a bridge to made able a access to a Iron mine near Melilla.When suddenly a Rift tribe attack them and kill them.After this event Spain send around 40.000 thousand soldiers to start making advances against the Rift tribes. -
WHO WHERE INVOLVED?
In the Rift War of 1911 that finished on 1927 where involucrated different countries , in one side we have the colonialists which where Spain leaded by Manuel Silvestre and Frnace.In the other side we had the Berber tribes of the Rif mountainous region of Morocco leaded by Abd el-Krim.But the territories of Morocco where divided into protectorates and where asigned to Spain and France.So they agree in getting this territories , so they were rich in materials and minerals. -
Larache Landing - Beggining Of The War
After the arrival of the 40.000 soldiers to Morocco , the military maneuvers in Jebala started , pricipally with the Larache Landing in which they take the control of the city of Larache.After this event the war started. -
Treaty Of Fez
On 1912 it was signed the Treaty of Fez between Morocco and France in which it was agreed that Morocco was a French protectorate but due to the different problems of Spain some several years ago it was given the North part of Morocco to Spain. -
Annual Disaster
After several battles some years ago the Spanish soldiers leaded by Fernandez Silvestre wanted to control more territories that where controlled by the rebels.Fernandez Silvestre started to made some military maneuvers in different territories , after not achieving nothing they return back to Melilla.But during the way to Melilla they were surrounded by the rebels and they were killed. -
Alhucemas Landing
It was a landing operation by the Spanish army and a minority of French soldiers in which it was used a massive number of tanks and ships to finish with the Rif war.It is considered the first amphibious and combined operation in history. -
End Of The War
After the battle of the Annual and the win of Spain and France , the leader of the rebels Abd el-Krim was forced to surrender.
