Lexington
The Battle of Lexington occurred on April 19, 1775. It had lasted 15 min because they saw 70 minutemen and the British were insisting them to put their weapons down but someone fired their gun and everything got out of hand. Eighteen minutemen were killed or very injured and only one British was injured. -
Concord
After the Battle of Lexington, the British marched to Concord and were about to march back to Boston when about 3,000 to 4,000 minutemen started to fire their guns to the British and after that many British soldiers died and the remaining marched back to Boston. -
Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill took place in Boston on June 17th, 1775. This battle was one of the deadliest battles in the Revolutionary War. A British soldier named Thomas Gage decided to attack militiamen near Bunker Hill. Thomas Gage then sent about 2,400 British men over there. The colonists fired away and killed/injured 1,000 casualties, the colonists lost 450 soldiers. -
New York
The New York Battle occurred in the summer of 1776. The British were trying to stop the rebellion by isolating New England so the 32,000 British soldiers sailed to New York City, the colonial troops retreated because they were not ready and unprepared. -
Trenton
The Battle of Trenton occurred on Christmas night of 1776. Christopher sent 2,400 men to attack a garrison of hessians. -
Marquis De Lafayette
He helped train the continental army, lobbied France for French reinforcements and led a army in Virginia, and he was also in the battle of Brandy wine. -
Philadelphia
The Philadelphia battle occured in September 1776. A rich Philadelphia merchant and his associate Robert Morris and Haym Salomon begged to raise money to provide salaries for the Conventional Army. Many people marched to fight including women and African Americans. -
Yorktown
The British surrendered to the Americans. They were surrounded by 17,000 French and American troops. This was known as the last battle of the Revolutionary War. -
The Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris gave us independence and set boundaries to nations, it was the negotiation between the Americans and the British, and it also made America grow from the edge of Canada to the border of Florida. -
Valley Forge
The Valley Forge battle begin on October 17th, 1777. While General John Burgoyne was fighting the colonial troops. He thought that his fellow british officers were going to meet with him but they were too busy in Philadelphia. He then surrendered because they did not know what to do.
