    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Battle of Bunker Hill was to control the Boston Harbor. Took position on Bread's Hill north of Boston. 2,400 British against 1,600 colonists (militia). The colonists General said, "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes". Colonists made big mounds they hid behind and shot at through, British were not expecting. Colonists ahead days 1 and 2, day 3 out of amo. Therefore British won. Over 200 British killed and 800 injured. Colonists suffered less than half of that.
  • Battle of Lexington

    Battle of Lexington
    The Battle of Lexington had "the shot heard round the world". This was where a soldier shot out of line and started the battle without order. 8 minute men were killed, 10 were injured. British attacked Lexington, 70 minutemen fought. John Parker told the Colonists not to fire until fired upon.
  • New York Battle

    The Battle was in New York City. Colonial General Washington and 23,000 militia. British General Howe and 32,000 trained soldiers. British won.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Battle of Trenton
    General Washington crosses Delaware River. Colonists against British Army of Mercenaries. Attacked on Christmas. Colonies won.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Colonial General - Horatio Gates British General - John Burgoyne The colonies won. Gave foreign allies confidence. Colonies gained France, Spain, and Prussia.
