  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    It was fought on April 19, 1775 in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The British were led by Major John Pitcairn of the royal marines. Britsh General Thomas Gage sent 700 soldiers to destroy guns and ammunition. They also planned to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill took place mostly on and around breeders Hill. On June 13, 1775 the leaders of the colonial forces besieging Boston learned that the British Generals were planning to send some troops out from the city to to occupy the hills surrounding the city. General Gage was the British commander officer, and the Redcoats were led by General William Howe. The leader of the rebel troops, Israel Putnam, shouted " Dont shoot 'till you see the whites of their eyes!"

    The Saratoga War took place on the Hudson River in new York State. Major General Horatio Gates and Brigadier Benedict arnold commanded the american force. Major General John Burgoyne commanded the British and German force.The Americans forced the surrender of Burgoyne's force.

    It took place at Valley Forge in 1777. This was a really hard war for the soldiers. Their General George Washington had problems getting supplies to the troops. When winter came it only made things worse. They had little clothing and blankets were scarce,

    It took place at trenton, New Jersey on the Deleware River. George Washington commanded the revolutionaries while Johann Rall commanded the Hessians. The battle significantly boosted the continental Armys flagging morale. It also inspired reinlistments.
  • Yorktown

    It was fought between September 28th through Ocotber 18th, 1781. it was in Virginia. General Washington commanded the Americans. Lieutenant commanded the French and Major General Lord Cornwallis commanded the British. Both sides were armed with muskets and guns. The Americans and the French finally won.

    It was signed on September 3, 1783. It ended the Revolutionary war between Great Britain and the United States. It took place in Paris, France.
