Battle at Lexington and Concord
The first shot of the Revolutionary War was shot here. No one knows who shot it. I have a theory that the colonists were the ones to shoot the first shot because the were tired and inexperienced so they diddnt know how to shoot a gun that well.
The British were coming to take away the colonists military equipment when the colonist surprised them with guns to stop them. -
George Washington Named Commander
George Washington was one of the greatest commanders known to man. He made a great impact in the war. He led his army across the Deleware River which was one of the first battles ever won by the Americans. -
Battle at Bunker Hill
The Americans fough the British in order to protect their shipyard near Boston. The British ended up winning even though the Americans made huge damage to the British. Even though the British technically won I still believe the AMericans did the most damage. -
Common Sense Published
Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine. It encouraged most American colonists to join the Patriots to help fight against the British. It made people realize how unfair Britain was being. -
Betty Ross Creates First American Flag
Betty Ross created the first Amrican flag. *That date is not correct. We only know that it happened in May 1776. I am not sure the exact date. -
Decleration of Independence Written
We celebrate teh 4th of July in honor of the day the Decleration of Independence was written. It was written by Thomas Jefferson and was sent all around to the colonists and to the people in Europe. It talked about how the government is supposed to protect a persons natural rights which are life, libertya nd the pursuit of happiness. It also stated how the King of England diddnt protect these rights. -
Battle of Long Islan
The British arrived in Long Island in hope of captureing New York and the Hudson River. By doing so that would divide the colonies in half. On the American side 1,000 people died or were injured and on the British side only 400 died or were injured. The British won. -
British Capture New York

Washington Crosses the Deleware
George Washington and his ary crossed the Deleware River in an attempt to capture Trenton. To do this they had to defeat the Hessians. The Americans ended up winning with absolutely no casualties on their side. They did actually kill the Hessian commander. -
Americans Force a British Retreat in Conneticut
Benedict Arnolds troop forced the British army to retreat. This happened in Ridgefield, Conneticut. -
Battles of Saratoga
The Battes of Saratoga happened on September 9, 1777 and October 7, 1777. These were taken place 9 miles away from each other. It is said to be the turning point in the war. The Americans won this war and because of that the French joined the Americans against the British. -

Battle of Trenton
The Battle of Trenton was led by General George Washington. The crossed the Deleware River and attacked the Hessians. It was the first battle the Americans won. -
Nathaneal Greene Named Commander
George Washington names Nathaneal Greene commander of the Southern Army. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown happened in Virgina. It was the Americans and the French against the British. There were 8,800 Americans, 7,800 French, and 6,000 British. The American and French won. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary War. -
Washington Resignes as Commander
After the war has ended George Washington resigns as a commander.
