    The Stamp act was passed by the British parliament. It enforced American Colonists to pay a tax on on every piece of printed paper they used. This was was an asymmetrical action by the British because they imposed the act on the colonist and the colonist rebelled.

  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was on March 5, 1770 in Boston Massachusetts. Five American Colonist were killed that day by British troops. This event happened because of ongoing tension between the Royal troops and the Americans. This was an asymmetrical event because the British killed five people without warning.

    On May 10, 1773 the British imposed the Tea Tax on the American Colonies. The Tea Tax was one of the many items that got taxed by the British. The British needed to tax the American Colonies to pay for their previous war debt. This was an asymmetrical event because the British imposed the law on the American Colonies without warning.

  • Battles at Lexington/Concord

    Battles at Lexington/Concord
    The Battles at Lexington/Concord were faught on April 19, 1775. It is not known if an American Patriot or a British soldier shot the first shot in the battle but it is known as "the shot heard around the world." This battle was won by the Americans. It is an asymmetrical event because the patriot army had 700 soldiers waiting for the British army to arrive.

  • Bunker (Breeds) Hill

    Bunker (Breeds) Hill
    Bunker Hill was on June 17, 1775 in the early stages of the Revolutionary War. The battle exploded into brutal fury on top of this hill. The British take Bunker Hill. This is the first major battle in the American Revolution. This was a symmetrical event because both the British and the Colonist started the battle at the same time wanting to gain control of the hill.

  • Battle at Trenton/ Princeton

    Battle at Trenton/ Princeton
    The battle of Trenton/ Princeton was fought between the Americans and the British on December 25, 1775. The Americans planned a sneak attack. They silently crossed the Delaware River in New Jersey. The Americans knew that this was there last chance to try and turn the table in the wars direction. Thees battles were asymmetrical because the Americans started the battle with the sneak attack.

    Common Sense
    Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense on January 10, 1776 in Philadelphia. He wrote this pamphlet to encourage independence from Great Britain. He did this by giving persuading examples of why the American Colonist should fight for the right of freedom. This was an asymmetrical event because Great Britain did not expect this revolutionary uprising from the colonies.

    The Declaration of Independence was declared on July 4, 1776. The Colonialist wonted to grant their independence from Great Britain. This was an asymmetrical event because the British did not know this was going to happen.

    Continental Army wintering at Valley Forge
    The Continental army wintering at valley Forge was in the winter of 1777. Soldiers were dying of the cold and disease. The British army also had this problem. During these months the two army's took this time off from the war. General Washington didn't know what to do with his army so he was very stressed out. This was an asymmetrical event because both of the armys took this time off.

    Battle of Saratoga
    The Battle of Saratoga was fought between the British and the Patriots on October 17, 1777. When the British arrived to the battle site they were out numbered 2-1 and the Patriots took them by surprise by shooting out of the trees. The British surrendered making this battle the turning point in the Revolutionary War. This was a symmetrical battle because both the Patriots and the British were fighting in this battle.

    War in the South/Charleston
    The battle in Charleston was on March 28, 1780. The British were defeated in the Northern and Middle colonies so conquering the South was a last resort. The British won the South so the Patriots were disappointed and they didn't know what to do with no more resources left. These were asymmetrical events because the British started the battle without the knowing of the Patriots

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The Battle of Yorktown was on September 28, 1781. It lasted for 3 weeks of constant bombing back and fourth. When the French army came they blocked of off the Chesapeake bay making the British run low on supplies. This battle was very important because when the British Army surrendered the Americans took the whole army prisoner. This was a symmetrical event because both the British and the American army knew they were going to fight in the battle.
