Shots rang out I concord, no one knows who shot first (shot heard around the world). British retreated and waited in Lexington for reinforcements. Guerrilla warfare is used. -

This Battle happened due to General Gage (loyalist) who had received instructions to take the patriots' weapons. This battle happened on the way to Concord in order to take the weapons. -

The Continental Congress meets in Philidelphia, they govern the colonies and take charge of the war from then on. -
Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker was an important turning point in the revolutionary war. The British learned that they underestimated the patriots. Americans lost around 400 while the British lost over 1000. British did win this battle though. -

Battle of Germantown
The patriots fail to claim their capital which at the time was Philadelphia. British forces defeat Patriots. It took them two months to defeat. -
Britan abandoned Philidelphia
The French started trusting Americans and joined the war after Philidelphia was taken (the capital). General Howe feared the French cutting him off with their ships so they fled Philadelphia. -
Battle of Yorktown
This battle took place in Virginia. The Battle of Yorktown, also called the Siege of Yorktown, was the final battle of the American Revolutionary War. The British surrendered during The Battle of Yorktown
