It was the military conflict that started the American Revolution between the Kingdom of Great Britain and its thirteen colonies in North America. The village of Lexington in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, is where the fight between the colonies took place. They lost the fight.

The victory fortified France’s belief of the Americans winning the war. This victory helped the alliance between America and France build.

    Valley Forge was where the American Continental Army made camp during the winter. The American forces became a true fighting unit at Valley Forge. This place is often called the birthplace of the American Army. The army was low on supplies and still fought to stay alive. 2,000 of the soldiers died, which affected the people enough to be apart of Congress’ letter.
