  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle Lexington and Concord was the first engagement of the Revolutionary War and began to conflict between the colonist and Britain. This battle occurred because British marched to take out an American weapons cache but were instead met with colonists who were warned by Paul Revere and other riders
  • Capture of Fort Ticonderoga

    The capture of Fort Ticonderoga was a victory by the Americans allowing them to take the fort with just a few hundred men. The capture of the fort was very important to the revolution, providing the colonist with supplies such as cannons, ammunition, etc.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill took place outside of Boston where the colonist had put the city under siege. The British tried to defeat the colonist outside of the city during the battle and won but had large losses. This was important because it showed the colonist that they could stand up and fight British and even though they lost it was a huge morale booster.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The Battle of Saratoga was one of the most important battles of the war and is considered by some to be the climax or the turning point of the war. This was because it was a major defeat for the British and there forces were nearly all captured or killed. This boosted the morale of the Americans and made the British worried about the war in the colonies. This battle also brought the French into the war to support the Americans because they saw that they had a chance of winning after this battle.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    The Battle of Cowpens took place in the Southern colonies and was an important to the campaign in the South. The British who attack the Americans at Cowpens ended up losing to the Americans which stopped the campaign in South.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown was the final battle of the revolutionary war. This battle led to defeat of the British after the Americans seiged the city in which they held up. The British were forced to surrender after England could not get reinforcements to the colonies.
