Washington confused General Cornwallis's troops about how they where going to leave Trenton. Cornwallis thought they where going to take the Delaware River but the Continental Army snuck around the side of the British Army. They caught the rear guard of the British Army. Battle of Brandywine
British Generals Howe and Cornwallis lead an attack on the Patriot outpost at Brandywine Creek. Howe and Cornwallis split their 18,000 troops in half. Howe attacked from the front while Cornwallis attacked from behind. Americans lost 1,100 while the British only lost 600. Americans also lost their cannons because their artillery horses were killed during the battle. -
