Treaty of Paris
This treaty ended the French and Indian war. It was signed by Great Britain, France, Spain and Portugal. Is the beginning of an era for the British. -
The Sugar Act
The sugar act reduced the taxes on molasses. The act also listed more foreign goods to be taxed including sugar, coffe and pimento. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act tried to raise money from the American colonies by requiring that printed matirial should be produced on stamped paper, produced in London. -
Quartering Act
It forced people in the American Colonies to provide the British soldiers with food and a place to sleep. -
Townshend Act
It is an act passed to put taxes on glass, paper, paint, tea, and lead. These items were not produced in America and the colonists were only allowed to by them from the British. This act was created to raised money in the colonies to pay the salaries of governors and judges. -
Boston Massacre
British soldiers were being taunted by colonist so it lead to soldiers shooting at the colonist. 5 colonist died in the Boston Massacre. -
Tea Act
Great Britain imports tea from India and sells it for a higher price to the colonist. -
Boston Tea Party
Patrick Henery and the Sons of Liberty (lead by Samuel Adams) raided three shipping boats and threw all the tea overboard.The colonist did this on the acount of the Tea Act. -
1st Continental Congress meet
The Continental Congress meets in Carpenter's Hall,Phioladelphia to discuss problems with Great Britain. -

The start of the war. 'Shot herd around the world'. -
