Boston Massacre
When a couple of drunk colonist got into a fight with some British solidiers, one discharged his weapon. There was a major fight over the color of skin issue, for one was a colored man. -
Boston Tea Party
The British taxed tea and made the colonists very mad. To rebel, they dumped all the tea on the boat into the harbor to annoy Britian. It made them very mad. -
Battle of Lexington
This is were the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired. No one knows who fired the first shot. The Minutemen lost 8 men in this battle. -
Bunker Hill
This took place on Breeds Hill. The Americans held off the redcoats for a couple of attacks but then ran out of ammo. They started using glass and what ever they could find to fire at them. They then got overwhelmed by the redcoats. -
Invasion of Quebec
General Arnold and Montgomery failed to invade Canada when they decided to attack instead of defend. This would have been better since there were more troops on the British side. -
Declaration of Independence
2nd Continentel Congress issues formal declaration of separation from Britian.This is were there was no turning back and we had to face the best army in the world at the time. -
Long Island
This was the first major battle in the Revolution since the Declaration of Independence. The Americans were forced to retreat to Manhatten and then to New Jersey. It was a bad loss.. -
Trenton
The Patriots came in the morning after Christmas.There was a spy that had tried to tip iff a general. The general having fun, put the note in his pocket. He never read the note, for he was shot during the morning attack the next day. The battle took place after General George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River. -
Saratoga
We won another battle here. It was a turning point in the war. The red coats plan was to take a major waterway to cut off the colonies from each other. One side abandoned this plan so it failed. -
Battle of Yorktown
General George Washington won the last battle of the War. General Cornwallis surrendered. -
The Treaty of Paris
The British acknowledged that the Americans were now an independent country. This took place in a neutral area in Paris, France.
