Fought near Wilmington, North Carolina. The Loyalists were led by Donald MacDonald. It was 1,050 Patriots against 700 to 800 Loyalists. The Patriot were led by James Moore. It was a Partiot victory. Patriots only had 1 casualty and 1 wounded, while the Loyalists had 30 to 50 wounded or killed, and 850 became POW. -
Battle of Trenton
The Patriots crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Eve. They ambushed the German Hessians on Christmas morning. The battle was short, and the Hessians surrendered quickly. -
John Paul Jones's Battle
A battle at sea. The two ships were Serapis and Bondomme Richard. The Bondomme Richard was a merchant ship. The British shot the Bondomme Richard started burning and sinking. But the Americans won, despite battling against the strongest navy in the world. -
Battle of Yorktown
It was also called the Seige of Yorktown. It was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. The Partiots, led by George Washington, combined with the French, led by Comte de Rochambeau. They fought against the British, who were led by General Lord Cornwallis. When they surrendered, the British thought to end the war.
