  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This was the beginning of a long and frustrating time fo the colonists. They fought for the land west of the colonies and earned it but Britain did not let them because they said "The King and his council presented the proclamation as a measure to calm the fears of the Indians, who felt that the colonists would drive them from their lands as they expanded westward."
  • The Currency Act

    The Currency Act
    This was the British taking all of the paper money and telling the colonists to use "hard currency" instead of the bills they were using since they could regulate the money unlike before. Ultimately this lead to the colonist trying to steal and getting caught and persacuted by British officials not colonists.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This was the taxing of almost every printed document that you would want to share from a letter home to a calendar. This upset the colonists suffered a trade deficit with Great Britain to begin with and argued that the shortage of hard capital would further exacerbate the situation.
  • THE TOWNSHEND REVENUE ACT

    THE TOWNSHEND REVENUE ACT
    This was the taxation of goods basically they had to pay to export stuff like tea to a ream of paper also called Atlas fine.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This probably was the signal event leading to the Revolutionary War. The British killed three and wounded another eight colonists. This was followed by a a campaign by speech-writers to rouse the ire of the citizenry. This all lead to only two of the soldiers to be charged with manslaughter
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was the result of the British taxing tea. The reason behind this taxation was to help the struggling East India Company. The colonists did not understand that and thought theat Britain was trying to get more money. Therefore the colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped 92,000 ounds of tea into the harbor thu making the British extremely upset and lead to them losing their right to vote for anything.
  • Articles of Association

    Articles of Association
    This was a universal prohibition of trade with Great Britain. Though it made a couple of exceptions, it prohibited import, consumption, and export of goods with England. Also it established citizen committees to enforce the act throughout the colonies. This was so nobody coudl get away without being punished.
