French and Indian War
The war was also called the seven year war.The war started in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris of 1763. The war was between France and Britain.France expanded into the Ohio river valley and Britain got made about it and they called war about it. -
Treaty of Paris
This treaty was the cause of ending the French and Indian War. This treaty also made France gave up all their territories mainland to north america. This ended the military threat to the British. The treaty was signed February 10 1763. -
Proclamation of 1763
The king declared lands west of the Appalachian Divide off limits to colonies. This was for the natives to not fight the colonies. It was known as a Indian Reserve. It was declared on October 7 1763. -
Stamp Act
The British parliament made the stamp act in 1765. This was a direct tax on the colonies. The act said that most printed materials in the colonies needed to have a stamp on the paper. Some of the examples that needed this stamp was newspapers, and legal and commercial documents. -
Boston Massacre
Some people call it a deadly riot others call it a confrontation. The british soldiers shot and called many people because there was a mob around them and they got harassed by the mob.Some say it was a street brawl and there was one solider with a lot of people around him but turned out bad. -
Boston Tea Party
The boston tea party was when they throw tea over on the ship dressed as indians. They did this because they were angry because the companies in the colonies that made tea got taxed but one company did not get taxed.They dumped a total of 342 chests. -
Intolerable Acts
These were put into place because of the Boston Tea Party. Since they did not like the tax on the tea then caused the Tea Party which then caused the Intolerable Acts to be placed on Massachusetts. The intolerable acts had different parts to it. -
Battles Of Lexington and Concord
This was the first engagements from the military of the American Revolutionary War. The battles were fought in province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, concord, lincoln and a couple others this was the major start of the war. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
This was during the Siege of Boston. This was one of the battles that happened early in the war. It was named after the area most of the battle happened at.Some of the fighting occurred on nearby Breed Hills. -

This was a pamphlet that was written by Thomas Paine. He wrote about independence from great britain. This was also written to get the people in the colonies to fight britain. -
Declaration of Independence
This was a break up letter to the king. He did not really care about it. The people of the continental congress decided to make to the people in hopes of getting them to fight for independence. This whole thing was started by people not wanting to pay taxes on anything. -
Battle of Trenton
The place was Trenton, New Jersey. The battle was a small one in the war. The plan was to bring his army across the Delaware on christmas and attack. A large amount of people escaped the area when they were being attacked. -
Battle of Saratoga
This happened in the second year of the war. The two bad battles were fought 18 days apart. This was the turning point of the war. The Continental Army won. -
Valley Forge
This was six months encampment of the Continental Army.The commander was George Washington. This happened only a few miles away from Philadelphia Pennsylvania. In september the congress fled Philadelphia. -
Battle of Cowpens
The location of the battle was near the town of Cowpens South Carolina. The battle was between us forces and british forces. The us won this battle which was lead by general Daniel Morgan. -
Battle of Yorktown
This battle ended in October 19,1781. This was a victory for the us and french sense they joined the us side sense they did not like the british. The british general surrendered to general George Washington. -
Treaty of 1783
This treaty was signed by the us and britain. This ended the American Revolution War. The paper gave the us freedom from Britain and the us got a good amount of west land.
