  • The Molasses act

    The Molasses act
    This act imposed lowering of the taxes on molasses, sugar, and rum that isn't obtained from non-British foreign colonies to North American.
    The purpose of lowering the taxes was to influence the importers to buy it from British colonies rather then to smuggle it from the competing Spanish and French colonies that way they make more money.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    king George III issued the proclamation on October 10th, 1763. He was hoping to appease the Native Americans that sided against him during the recent seven years of war.
    British colonists disagreed with the proclamation of 1763 because it forbid colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountain range, the British were trying to control the expansion Westward therefore colonists who had already gotten comfortable on the west side of the mountains had to migrate to the east.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The colonists disagreed with the sugar act, in fact the colonists were so angry with the act it was repealed due to the over whelming negative responses from the colonists.
    The sugar act concluded a tax on every gallon of foreign molasses, therefore to save money importers would buy molasses from the British colonies rather then anywhere else.
    However they instead imposed the stamp act which imposed taxes on every paper content they used.

    This new tax law was it was imposed on all American colonists which required them to pay a tax on every single piece of printed paper they used.
    This act angered the colonists
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The declaratory act did not raise or impose any new taxes, it also did not restrict the colonists assemblies, in fact it did not require anything from the colonists besides their respect for the British parliament.
    The colonists celebrated their victory of the stamp act getting repealed.
  • Repeal of The Stamp Act

    Repeal of The Stamp Act
    The British house of commons repealed the stamp act because of how many negative reactions they got from the colonists,however on the same day the British parliament passed the declaratory act, which imposed power over the colonists by the British.
    the colonists agreed withe the repeal but did not mind the declaratory act.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The act was a mob that showed the resentment that the colonists had toward the British Parliament for trying to impose taxes on colonists for tea, glass, paper, and paint.
    The colonists felt proud in their act of bravery and expression.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act imposed taxes on tea imported from non-British ports because the British wanted people to buy from Britain ports so the British would gain more of the peoples money.
    The colonists reaction to this act was the Boston Tea Party.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    American colonists disguised as natives threw years worth of the British's beloved tea in the Boston harbor.
    The Boston tea party was one of the first acts that triggered the revolutionary war.
    The colonists felt vengeful towards the British and felt successful after the act.
  • The Intolerable Act

    The Intolerable Act
    This act was to punish the colonists for the intolerant acts such as the Boston tea party.
    The intolerable act concluded the shut down of the Boston harbor and forbid town meetings.
    The British were very hostile toward the Colonists during this time
