  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    Also known as the Seven Years War between Great Britain and France. This war provided Great Britain with a large gain of territorial land in North America when they gained the victory. But due to disputes and disagreements The American Revolution would soon follow. The Sevens Year War came to a conclusion when the Treaty of Paris was Signed in 1763.

    Treaty of Paris, 1763
    The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian war between Great Britain and France. Thanks to the Treaty, Great Britain gained all of the French territories in nowadays America. Due to this, the French was not nearly as big of a threat with British Colonies occupying that land now.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    Once Great Britain acquired all the land they won from France during the French and Indian War, King George lll issued the Proclamation of 1763. This would forbid all settlement that was west of a border that was drawn along the Appalachian Mountain. This line seperated land for the British and an Indian Reserve.
  • Stamp Act

    Great Britain taxed the colonist using the Stamp act which was an Act of Parliament that made the colonies in America print products on stamped paper which came from London.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    During a confrontation between a mob of colonist protests and British soldiers, the soldiers open fired on the mob after being harassed. The shootings lead to several people dieing.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    With the frustration from taxation without representation boiling over within the colonists, the Sons of Liberty snuck onto a boat and dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor. This protest was one of the first acts of defiance shown from the colonies.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The intolerable Acts were passed after the boston tea party and was intended to increase the strict control by british officers in the colonies. The British Soldiers would use harsh and violent methods of maintaining strict, demanding control.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first military engagement between the patriots and the british soldiers during the American Revolution. Paul Revere made his famous ride for this battle warning the minute men and other patriots the the british were coming. At lexington, the colonist forced the british to retreat.

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought on June 17, 1775 while the siege of Boston was occuring during the revolutionary war. Although losing the battle, Americans inflicted many casualties to the British military and giving the colonist a significant confidence boost.
  • Publication of Common Sense

    Publication of Common Sense
    Thomas Paine published a pamphlet called The Common Sense for all people residing in the colonies to advocate independence and push people to want to fight for it. The pamphlet consisted of many articles exposing the harsh, cruel and unjust things that Great Britain was inforcing on them.

    Declaration Of Independence
    Written by Thomas Jefferson, The Declaration of Independence was the first official statement by the colonists coming together to have their own government. It was signed in Philadelphia on July 4th, 1776 and now know as America's birth of independence.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton was not the biggest but arguably one of the most pivotal. General Washington defeated german troops hired by Great Britain and it was an easy victory during Washington's raid across the Delaware river
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point and the climax of the Saratoga campaign. America forced a surrender on October 17, 1777
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge
    Valley Forge was one of eight winter camps of the Continental Army. The camp was about 20 miles away from Philadelphia and was commanded by General George Washington. This camp was used so the Continental Army can keep an eye on the British Soldiers who had control over Philadelphia at the time.

    Battle of Cowpens was an engagement during the American Revolutionary War that took place in Cowpens, South Carolina. American inflicted a lot of casualties and it was a turning point in the Southern Campaign.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    George Washington forced the Surrender by General Cornwallis and ultimately the end of the American Revolutionary War. This surrender also resulted in American finally starting its new nation and indented Washington's great leadership and soon to be elected the first president.
  • Treaty of Paris, 1783

    This treaty was signed by King George lll and some representatives of America to signify the ending of the American Revolution after the seven year long war. With the signing of the Treaty, AMerica gained land that was east of the Mississippi River which led to Westward Expansion.
