  • Lexington

    Lexington
    On April 19 the redcoats marched into Lexington and were greeted with 70 minutemen. They told the minutemen to drop their weapons, so the minute men left without dropping their weapons. Someone shoot and many on the colonists side were hurt or killed, but only one British soldier was wounded. War lasted 15 minutes
  • Concord

    Concord
    British soldiers went to concord and left when they found an empty arsenal. Thousands of minutemen ambushed the Britished and attacked. The war was bloody and the Colonist now had power in Boston.
  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    Thomas Gage sent 2,400 British soldiers up the hill to attack the colonists. The colonist could not withstand the British’s attack’s , so they surrendered. 450 colonists died and the British were left with many casualties
  • Trenton

    Washington led 2,400 men into Trenton. They defeated many Hessians because they planned out a surprise attack.
  • New York

    In the summer of 1776 the British sails to the harbor in New York to invade. They had help from Germany and many soldiers. The colonist were overwhelmed and had no choice but to retreat.
  • Philadelphia

    Philadelphia
    September 1777 the British captured the American capital at philadelphia. So in the end they had an upper hand against the colonists.
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga
    Burgoyne fought the colonial troops, but he was short men. He waited for his mn in philadelphia, but none came. They surrounded him and he had no choice but to surrender on October 17, 1777.
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge
    Wasghington and his continental army resided in valley forge in hopes of surviving the winter. More than 2000 soldiers died, the soldiers who survived fought till progress was made.February 1778.

    In february 1778 a frogein leader Marquis de Lafayette came to help the Americans. He led a command in virginia at 1779 that lasted years.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    The british general moved 7,500 soldiers in 1778 onto the peninsula between yorktown and james. He then camped out in Yorktown with the plan of taking over Virginia.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The british surrendered against the Americans. In 1783 the treaty was formed to confirm the U.S independence.
