    The oldest surviving photo of a real world scene was taken in 1826 or 1827, France, by Joseph Nicephore Niepce, a French inventor. He used a camera obscura. This was not his first photo, but it is his last remaining photo. This was the start of photography.     1839 was the year that practical photography started to grow. The photographic plate was less likely to bend or disorer the image and was extremely stable, this allowed artists to capture better research-quality images.

    To create this image photographers used a new method called the Three Colour Method, suggested by James Clerk Maxwell. Coloured photography allowed photographer to then express their work on a completely new level.

    Dry plates were inproved type of photographic plates and were so much more easier to repoduce, that within two years, a dry plate factory was introduced. This reduced the big cost of photography and allowed photographers to expand on their business.

    The magic lantern, also known as a motion toy, was a stop motion projector. Motion toys were made in the late 1700's but that was only by using small drawings. Magic lanterns started to become very popular during the 1800's. In 1872 a man called Eadweard Muybridge experimented with capuring moving images, using the same technique as the magic lantern. He created the first motion picture.

    Celluloid replaced film roll a year after it was made. The invention of Celluloid allowed photographers to capture images faster, and create films. This was a whole new way of entertainment.

    Georges Méliès had an early career, being an illusionist on stage, in later year of his life he became interested in filmmaking, creating 500 films between 1896 and 1913, he created films that were humourous, creaative and sutable for everyone, films became a more popular form of entertainment and more cineamas were created.

    Television was invented by a Scottish inventor named John Logie Baird. At first televison was look down apon, most people though it was too stupid to just sit infront of a screen for hours. But in modern day television is watched for hours by families around the world today.
