    Lots of people were executed, also including Nagy Imre in 1958, imprisoned and emigrated. The UN suspended Hungary and condemned the Soviet intervention.

    MEFESZ was established. Drafted a list of demands. A peaceful demonstration was planned on 23rd October as a result of the Polish events.

    A group of the demonstrators demolished the Stalin Statue which was the symbol of the communist terror.

    At 3 p.m. demonstrators at Petőfi - staute gathered together and Sinkovits Imre recited the National Song.

    Soviet troops occupied Budapest. Also there were fights in other cities as well in the countryside.
