In october of 1949, Mao Zedong gained control of China, and the naitonalists fled to Taiwan, to create their own version of a nationalist china. -
Great leap forward
Mao Zedong came up with this idea of how everyone would work extremely hard and all contribute to the greater good, but it involved him strictly controlling everyone's life and no one owning any land or having any private life. It turned out to become a giant leap backward with all the people who died. -

The cultural revolution was when many students known as the red guards got together and led uprisings to promote a life where peasants and farmers and everyone was equal. They shut down many schools in the process. -
Fall of Saigon
The fall of Saigon included the evacuation of people from the U.S. embassy in Vietnam. They were airlifted out of the last helilcopter leaving the country. -
Khmer Rouge
The Khmer Rouge were communist rebel, and in 1975, they set up a communist government in Cambodia in hopes of turning it into a communist country.
