The Mayan religion was influenced by the culture and religion of the Olmecs. The Mayans would worship nature gods (like the sun, rain, and corn). Their religion was important for astronomy and astrology, rituals of human sacrifice, and the building of elaborate pyramidical temples. I can related to the Mayans because I am from Mexico.

    Christianity in the Middle Ages
Newman, Simon. "Religion in the Middle Ages." The Finer Times. May 9, 2013.
Christianity dominated in the Middle Ages. The laws of the land and leading roles in the government were all in the hands of the leading church leaders. The Pope were more powerful than the Kings. I chose this because I am a Christian and I wanted to know how they were in the Middle Ages.

During the American Revolution, religion played a major role. At the beginning of the war some ministers were persuaded that, with God's help, Ameica might have become the principal Seat of a glorious kingdom with God. I chose American Revolution because I had family members that lived in the U.S during that time.

"Christianity and the War" EBSCO HOST Connection. EBSCO Publishing. May 17, 2013.
During World War I, Catholism was engaged in the war only followed orders bestowed upon them. Also, the church said that they didn't have to do or they weren't involved in anything that had to do with the war. Finally, they argue that the true cause of the war was the idolization of ourselfs. I didn't know they thought like that.

    Religion in World War II

Ben, Mark, Peter & Tim."Religious Intolerance and World War II" Lakeplacidcsd. Lakeplacidcsd. May 17, 2013.
In World War II there were many religious differences and this led to murder of over six million Jews. This all started in 1933, the Nazi party came to power. Later in 1939, Germany invaded Poland. It was really hard to choose what religion you wanted to be. I found religion persecution devastating.

Religion in the Cold War- I chose religion in America because I wanted to know how religion was not to long ago and how hard it was to keep your faith.

Inboden, William."Cold War Religion." First Thing. May 17, 2013.
In America religion was really ruff because evangelicals accused mainline churches of abandoning faith in god for oher things, ike social ethics, and of placing thier trust in human institutions. People were busy so religion was challenging but some people found religion helpful to go through the hard times.

Their religion countinued to be the same as in the Classical period but the population increased and spread all over Mexico especially in modern-day Guatemala. Unfortunately, throughout the time the Mayan culture declined dramatically and most of the cities were abandoned and most of the southern cities became depopulated.
