This had a positive impact on Australia's history as it was a good start for Australia to grow economically well.

This had a positive impact on Australia's history as it had the biggest impact on Australia's economy ever.

This was a positive impact on Australia's history the hospital was known for helping the very many people who suffered the Influenza virus outbreak in 1853.

    James Quinn, also known as James O'Quinn was appointed the first Bishop of Brisbane in 1859. He was an Irish-Australia superior of the Catholic Church and was renowned as the first Bishop of Brisbane. He founded the Queensland Immigration Society which provided ten ships with about 6000 migrants, who were mainly Irish.

    The first St Mary's Cathedral in College Street, Sydney was destroyed by fire. The only things that remained were the belltower. After the cathedral was burnt down, plans for a new cathedral were drawn up and the foundation stone of the building was laid in late 1868. The new and rebuilt cathedral was finished in 1928. This is significant in Australia's history for being the first land granted to the Catholic Church in Australia.

This has a positive impact on Australia as this was also the year Australia became a federation. He was one of the main people who shaped Australia by developing and implementing government policies.

    The White Australia policy is fundamental legislation that was created by Alfred Deakin to limit the influx of all non-European immigrants into the county which sadly contributed to the development of racism in the white society. The legislation provided a series of word tests, where foreign immigrants would need to take and pass an almost impossible word task that would allow them in Australia. This has a negative impact on Australia's history, as it changed the demographic rapidly.
