This plan was made by President Lincoln, who was trying to recontruct the United States. This plan meant that any Southern State could be readmitted into the Union once 10% of its voters swore to the union allegiance.

The Wade-Davis bill was a bill made for the Reconstruction of the South. This Bill was similar to the 10% plan but this bill stated that southern states could rejoin the union if 50% of its voters swore an "ironclad oath" allegiance to the United States.

On this day, one of the most favorited president was asassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Booth obviously disagreed waith Lincoln's ideas and ways, in fact he was a confederate sympathizer. Booth shot Lincoln during a show at Ford's Thetare in Washington, DC. Andrew Johnson, a family member of Lincoln took his place in office.

Freedmans Bureau was established by the Congress to help freed slaves and poor white men in the South during reconstruction.
