Georgia Readmitted into the Union.
Georgia was the last state readmitted into the Union. During the war Georgia left the Union ,because of the abolishment of slves. -
14th Admendment Ratified
Created under Lincons rule. It gave citizenship tonpeoplein the U.S. including slaves. Helped give protection to the Civil Rights. -
Freedmans Bureau
Tetermind as the first fedreal welfare agency. It was set up by the Federal Government. It helped former slaves get the education they needed to go on through life. -
End of the Civil War (Appomattox)
This was the last battle in the Civil War. Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant on April 9, 1865 at Appomattox Court House in Appomattox County, Virginia. After this battle, the war ended and the Union won. -
Abraham Lincoln Assassinated
John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was shot during a play at Ford's Theatre. Lincoln's assassination took place five days after General Robert E. Lee surrender at the Appomattox Court-House. -
13th Admendment Ratified
The 13th amendment ended slavery. Lincoln believed that it was time to end slvery once and for all. The staes later ratified the 13th amendement. -
15th Admendment Ratified
The 15th amendment tried to protect the Civil Rights from newly freed slaves. The right to vote was important to most people. -
Henry McNeal Turner elected to Senate
He was one of the first black people to be elcted into the senate after the war. He settled in Macon Georgia. He was elected into the legislature during the reconstruction period. -
Election of Ruthford B. Hayes
It was the closest election race. He was known as the Warking. He fought in the Civil War and was wounded in battle/
